Children

CHILDREN
While we try to teach our Children all about life,
They teach us what life is all about.

I have always know how special children are. I remember telling my mom that I wouldn't have kids of my own so I could adopt some that didn't have families. As I got older I got that motherly instinct and obviously had two of my own. I believe that children are the most precious gift god gives to us. I told Ryan not too long ago that I'm not sure why god thought I was tough enough to be the mother of two boys, but he does, and I love it more than anything. I wouldn't trade motherhood for anything in the world. My boys are like wearing my heart outside my body. I get to watch them grow, learn, and laugh every day and nothing could make me happier. I wish nothing but the best for both of them, and I will always be proud to be their mom.

"If Jesus wouldn't have made you like that"

As usual, I have been yelling at my boys (for 45 min) to stop wrestling and get PJ's on. I finally had to put my foot down and start taking privileges away. Caleb's favorite is to get into bed and watch a movie at night, well not today!!! While I was on-line checking e-mail and reading blogs, he informed me that....."If Jesus wouldn't have mad you that way, I would be good." I asked him "What way?" "If you were a nice mom you would give me 15 chances then I would be good" Apparently the 20 I had already given him wasn't enough, now he is trying to blame my mean-ness on Jesus. What will he come up with next?

One more thing

I have only been blogging for a few months now and sometimes I get so frustrated. I have been sitting her for hours today trying to figure out how to shrink my background so it fits my page better. If anyone knows how, please let me know before I go crazy!!

Over the last month or so, there have been these wild sun flowers blooming along the highway. For about a week I would look at them on my way home from work and just be amazed at beautiful they were. There are miles and miles of these flowers that I have been able to enjoy. In fact I told my mom one day how amazing they were. One day last week I noticed that they are starting to die. I had taken their beauty for granted. I noticed them for a few days and then forgot about them. Now they are gone. I wish I would have noticed them every single day before they died, because they wont be back for another year. This made me realize how much I take for granted every single day. I need to slow down and enjoy the things around me more, after all "things" don't last forever.

A dream come true.....

I'm sure you all know that I wasn't raised a member of the church. In fact at one point in my life I vowed never to be a member. I have only been a member since 2001. And along with my husband, we have struggled to stay active. Almost 18 months ago we decided to sell our home and travel out west (further than we were). I was really nervous, because we decided to sell our home at the spur-of-the-moment and it was sold in one, I repeat one day! Once we moved out to Tooele we vowed that we would start going back to church and no one would know that we had been inactive. Well, that fresh start has been such a blessing for my family. I still wonder why we thought it was better for our family not to go to church. Our family functions so much better with the gospel in our lives. And now, after eight years of marriage, Ryan and I will take our boys to temple and be sealed for all time and eternity. I am getting anxious. We have about another month until we can go, but I know that there will be so many more blessing bestowed upon our family once we get there. I never thought this would happen! Some times things happen in our lives for a reason. We might not fully understand why at the time, and it may be trying, and you may be wondering "why me?" but in the end there is a reason for all our trials. I know that I wouldn't be where I am today, if I hadn't had some high tides to cross first. I am so grateful for all the many blessings that the gospel has brought to my family. And I look forward to many more.
